The School of Natural and Built Environments commenced operation in January 2004. It encompasses environmental sciences, park management, civil engineering, construction management, geoinformatics, planning, and project management disciplines.

The school provides local and trans-national coursework programs, and undertakes research to support improved environmental and socio-economic sustainability. The School also hosts the University’s
Transport Systems Centre, and is involved in several national Cooperative Research Centres.
